We are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Salalah between the Governor of Holy Karbala and the Omani–Iraqi consortium comprising Badr Investment Group (Oman) and Noor Al Zahir Group (Iraq) to develop an integrated Smart City in Karbala.

The MoU was signed by our Chairman, Mr. Ali Hasan Suliman, in the presence of the Governments of Oman and Iraq, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq and His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman – reflecting the significance of this project at the highest levels.

This milestone reflects the vision of our shareholders and the strategic partnership between Oman and Iraq, aligned with both governments’ aspirations to foster sustainable growth, innovation, and regional collaboration.

The planned Karbala Smart City will include residential neighborhoods, commercial centers, schools, healthcare facilities, and green areas  supported by modern digital infrastructure – a landmark development that will transform urban living and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
